You should not version the stuff in build/.

There are some high-sounding philosophical reasons for that, something about not versioning things that can be regenerated an' all. But perhaps a more telling issue is what you've discovered here: it doesn't work! ;-)

At this point, an Subversion (or SCPlugin) "remove" and "commit" seems the thing to do. Xcode will rebuild the build/ stuff for you.
