First, I partition my hard drive into three partitions:
Beta
Production
Data
How do you decide how much space to give over to Beta and Production?
Portable drives are cheap. I have (had -- it blew up yesterday.. ouch) a 320GB drive and devoted 50 for each of the OS partitions and the rest to Data.
If I do an 'asr' of an install image down to a partition, I'll do so to a partition on an external drive so as to avoid wasting N GB of space on what is very rarely used....
