Since Intel Macs can boot from USB I definitely recommend using a USB thumb-drive (or now the MacBook Pros can boot from SD card) instead of burning dual layer DVDs. I was surprised at how cheap 8G thumb-drives are, one will pay for itself very quickly as dual layer DVDs are not so cheap...
