Gwynne,
Personally I have no problem with you berating people for being
stupid.. But it doesn't work if you are also spouting rubbish.
Jailbreaking is (VERY) dangerous for your phone, and anything you
succesfully run on a jailbroken phone WILL NOT WORK on a normal phone.
That is simply not true.
Regards,
Stephen.

Caleb already told you the answer to this question:

In a nutshell, you can't run apps on the iPhone or iPod Touch

The only way out of that nutshell is jailbreaking, and you won't find
advice about that on an Apple mailing list.
You shouldn't have even mentioned it, in point of fact :).
Jailbreaking is (VERY) dangerous for your phone, and anything you
succesfully run on a jailbroken phone WILL NOT WORK on a normal
phone. Not to mention that jailbreaking is against *at least* one
terms of service agreement (whether it's of the phone itself, or
your carrier, or the iPhone SDK, or your ADC Online account) and
you'll have a harder time joining the developer program legitimately
later.
Either pay the money to Apple, or content yourself with the Simulator.
