I doubt it. Some customers are dug-in and want serial
support, but I don't think Mac users will want that. The main reason
I would build the serial support at all would be for in-house testing prior
to my having working USB support on the Mac. And then I guess if it all
works and the powers that be feel like maintaining it and testing it, then
that support would stay.

Well, I am not specialized in that area, but I have
a variety of UPS around my desk and neighboring desks which have both USB
and serial connections on the back. The ones that I see which have both
are all rack mount UPS. If you want to know more about smaller products
that have it, I can try to find out. Until Linux HID support is completed,
I think that we will be using the serial connections a lot. Likewise whilst
we work on the MacOS USB support.
