iLife Media browser

I know it isn't approved by Apple (hopefully we will soon get fully documented access) but I am trying to incorporate the iLife media browser into my application as my users want access to their iPhoto pics. I won't be writing back to the iPhoto library so that isn't an issue but the method presented here gives access to events such as 'Last roll' in photos which is very useful for me. Here is the link:

My question is this: In the above-link, they example shows how to incorporate the play and find options at the bottom of the iLife browser window and a way to turn it off for photos. But how do you turn on only the search (but no play) option for photos?
