Hi,
I'm not sure where to ask a question about gem (see 'man gem'). I hope it's
fine if I ask it here.
I need to run the gem command line program for a project that I'm working
on. I think that gem should be work fine on Mac OS X. I'm using 10.6.1
(without MacPorts). This link explains how to update RubyGems and Rails:
http://developer.apple.com/tools/developonrailsleopard.html
When I attempt to run 'gem -v' I get the following error.
$ gem -v
/usr/bin/gem:14: undefined method `ruby_version' for Gem:Module
(NoMethodError)
This prevents me from being able to run gem. Does anyone have any
suggestions? I've already spent quite bit of time on this. I've done lots of
Google searches. I can see that I have ruby 1.8.7 and rails 2.2.2 installed.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Chuck
