The full transcript is in the context menu for the build window, and opens in a separate text editor. What's opened is a faithful representation of what build steps you see; if you want a full transcript, set the scope bar to All Results, By Step, All Messages before you right-click to choose Open These Results as Transcript Text File.

I did a clean and full build of everything, then checked the transcript for that symbol. It's not there.

Someone else responded offlist and said (his opinion) that "the syslib on 10.4 was built with gcc4.0 and can not be used with a binary built with gcc4.2". I don't think this would be true. The version of gcc used shouldn't matter to the final build product with regards to what gets linked in, right? He also suggested using gcc 4.0 and the 10.4 sdk instead of 4.2 and 10.5 sdk. I guess I'll try that next if nobody has a definite answer about what's causing the runtime link error.
