I had to also install the new version of XCode (3.2) to again have
access to access the command line tools.
At lest in my configuration, just keeping XCode shipped with Leopard
would no longer give you access to the command line tools when
upgrading to Snow Leopard.

The command-line development tools are part of the Xcode Tools
installer. You might be able to custom-install them without the
Xcode GUI itself, if you really don't want that.
