Well, I didn't start this thread but why not? I hear
this argument a lot, but as we see, posting here (on a relatively low-volume
list) encourages debate and at least one Xcode developer monitors this list
(still there Chris?) so hopefully they will pay attention to what is being
said. Is filing a bug report more likely to get something done about this
kind of thing? That is written by one person and, most likely, read
by one person. *We* can't read it, or see or comment on any
feedback from Apple. I don't call that democracy. Anyway, we
are up to bug number 7 1/2 million already...

How depressing. I do hope you're wrong.

Bar in the View menu, which works like the one in Safari. Drag files into it to
add them, click to switch to one. Very useful, and feels a lot like
tabs.
That sounds like a useful tip but I am on Xcode 3.1.4. so
(it appears) I don't have it. Anyway, if they can do that, why can't they
do tabs?
Paul Sanders (not actually passionate about tabs,
passionate about Fix 'n Continue - and yes, I filed a bug report about that
being broken but was told the feature has been dropped).
