Not sure it's the same problem but I had a similar one a little while ago. I think it was caused by some bug in Xcode which would still keep track of an older certificate. I ended up having to open the Xcode project file in a text editor and find the offending relationship to the old certificate. I found the solution on the web after googling around. Maybe you can check. Sorry can't be more specific, I just can't remember the details.
Although if you created a new project, that would rule out the project file being the culprit. Make sure all the certificate, starting by the one Apple provides you, are current and valid. You might want to start from scratch, removing all certificates and provisioning profiles from both your keychain and your projects, go to the iPhone provisioning portal and download them again.
