I go faster. I'm using the keyboard to switch between windows. And the main advantage is that it is a system wide shortcut, so it works too in all others multi windows application.
That said, if you prefer tabs, its fine. Just a question of habit I think.
Note: this is Mac, Xcode, not MAC and XCODE.
