I am trying to debug, but when I step through the code, the debugger gets way out of alignment with what is being executed (I can tell by watching variables change, or NSLog print statements emit). I am working with the Debug configuration. For both the target and the project, the optimization is set to None. Is there some other place that Optimization settings can override these? I am running Xcode 3.2. TIA.

The first thing to do is to triple-check it by touching the source file in question, doing a build, and seeing what -O flag is set for the compilation.
