The key word here is "interesting". I don't know whether it's by design or due to bugs, but most of the locations back/forward remembers aren't in the least bit interesting to me. (It seems to remember every time I move the insertion point by clicking, for example.) It isn't at all the way it works in a web browser, which only remembers hyperlink jumps.
