Alastair;
	This is all that shows up in the Console under all Messages "7/20/10 7:46:55 AM	kernel	USBMSC Identifier (non-unique): 372041756775 0x2080 0x1 0x322" .
The device doesn't try to do any iTunes integration that I'm aware of. As I said in an earlier reply, under stock 10.6.x the device mounts fine, install Xcode, and then you can no longer mount it. It will also mount fine under 10.5.8 [PPC and Intel] WITH Xcode 3.0 installed.

Most of the other Mac's I have access to are 10.5.x, there are two that are 10.6.x, both are WITHOUT Xcode installed; and on ALL of the other Mac's the drive mounts properly. The Nook OS expects the 'drive' to be FAT32 formatted, you attach the device to your computer to put ebooks and other data on it [music, wallpapers, .. ect. .

In that case, it's possible that the Nook might be getting itself tangled up with Xcode's iPad/iPhone support.
