XCode asking password

hi, 

im using xcode on my lab but when i try to compile my code it gives me this error:

Type the name and password of a user in the "Developer Tools" group to allow Developer Tools Access to make changes. 

which is i presume it ask me for admin password. the xcode is a fresh install.
is it required to use admin password to use current xcode? the older version (that comes with leopard) does not do that to me.
