Problems with Xcode 3.2.2

  • Subject: Problems with Xcode 3.2.2

I installed Xcode 3.2.2 yesterday after Software Update suggested that I do so.

Within the last 18 hours I have repeatedly experienced:

a) hangs after cleaning and then attempting to build my project (I have filed #7973125 on Radar)

b) serious debugger issues which prevent single-stepping through code which uses inlined functions such as NSMakeRange necessitating their removal from the code as a workaround (filed #7973096)

c) canceling a completion suggestion can cause the editor to get totally out of whack, rendering the current line twice and inserting typed characters into two different locations simultaneously. An Xcode restart seems to be the only reliable solution. (filed #7973140)

I'll downgrade to 3.2.1 to avoid these issues. It's a good thing that as a Mac developer I'm not specifically dependent on 3.2.2.

I've been using Xcode full-time since 2.x on Tiger but don't remember ever having to remove an Xcode update because of quality issues before.

Simon
