I figured out why my Xcode bookmarks are all dead in Xcode 3.2.4, but I don't know how it happened. And I'm not quite sure how to fix it.
Xcode bookmarks are stored in the com.apple.Xcode.plist preference file in ~/Library/Preferences, under the key kDSMBookmarkManagerAllBoomarksUserDefaultsKey. All of my bookmarks have kDSMBookmarkAbsoluteURLDictionaryKey keys showing the URLs as file:///Developer/Documentation/DocSets/.... However, after upgrading to Xcode 3.2.4 and downloading the updated documentation, the actual locations on my startup disk are file:///Library/Developer/Shared/Documentation/DocSets/....
I do find an old developer tools docset in the /Developer/Documentation/DocSets/... folder, but its name is wrong. It must be left over from some earlier installation.
Is there some setting in Xcode or some tool that I can use to fix the bookmark URLs in the preference file automatically? -- I doubt it. Maybe I can just manually move them to where the preference file thinks they are. But what will that do down the road? Otherwise, I'll have to write an AppleScript to update the URLs in the preference file.
