I got such good results with the last question that I'd like to try another. Background: it's an iPad app currently in XCode 3.2.6, where it is more convenient for certain coordination with other projects.
As the app was working great in the simulator I obtained a bundle identifier from Apple and put it into the target settings as described in the online video. After doing that the app would not run; the bundle could not be found or something, so I cleaned, reset the simulator, and even manually deleted the existing app file. What happens now when I attempt to run is this: the simulator appears, loading the app, whose splash screen then shows momentarily and quits. After I quit the simulator, the project window displays this disheartening message: "Error from debugger: Failed to launch simulated application: Unknown error."
But it must have something to do with the change to the target properties, reflected in the info plist. That's all that I have changed since those glorious hours when it was working beautifully, which now seem so long ago...
One hint: the simulator apparently never gets to the line about "Supported interface orientations," which here are limited to landscape left and landscape right. When the splash does its brief appearance it's in portrait orientation.
