That's probably true...and, in total, it's likely even a smaller portion of Apple's income.

That makes it a symbol of something rather than a financial decision.  For one, I'm not a big fan of *any* barriers to people developing software for Apple computers and would like to understand the benefits of this "nickel and dime" move.

(I've paid to be in the iOS program and so have no stake in the actual cost involved.)
