I submitted this to Apple's App Store support. But if anyone on this list has a solution, I'd love to hear it. Thanks.
I purchased Xcode 4 from the App Store. It downloaded and installed fine on my first Mac. On my second Mac, I first uninstalled my old Xcode (3.2.5) before initiating the download from the App Store. I did not restart my Mac after uninstalling the old Xcode and starting the download of Xcode 4.
Because it was late, and the download was going to take a couple hours, I started it and went to bed. When I checked the next morning, it appeared to have completed. The App Store said Xcode was installed, and the icon was in the dock (though, to be honest, I don't recall if I removed the old Xcode icon). When I clicked on the icon, it displayed a '?' indicating it couldn't find the app. I thought maybe it was the old Xcode icon, so when I went to look for the Developer folder, it wasn't there.
The problem is, the App Store thinks Xcode is installed and won't let me initiate a new download or installation. I could try copying the "Developer" folder over from the Mac where it's correctly installed, but I assume that won't work as some items won't be present unless the installer itself is run.
Rob
