So what? I cannot and will not believe that Xcode 4 allows you to develop for ONE and only ONE OS version at a time. I really think you are wrong here. Also as the docs still clearly talk about the deployment target. Please can anyone confirm?

That's not true. It seems they make it more difficult in 3.2.6 (without any warning), but I most definitely just made a fat binary containing ppc using 3.2.6.
