Hi Christiaan.

Yepp - as far as I see it doesn't even support OS 10.5 and below. The Xcode 4 documentation clearly notes that you should use it when creating or maintaining apps for the "current version of OS X".

Shouldn't I be able to set the deployment target to 10.5 then?

Is 10.5 the "current version of OS X"? Nope.

Keep a running version of 3.2.5 (not 3.2.6!, because they have dropped PPC support in 3.2.6 already).
