This seems like a silly question but I've googled and searched the help and can't seem to find a fix (or even a cause), so here goes.
I'm using Xcode 4.0 on 10.6.7 (happened on 10.6.6 yesterday, too).
When I have a project open and the listing of files on the left pane, single-clicking a file makes the main part of the window switch to that file's contents - but it does so after a full two second delay. The previous file stays displayed in the big pane until "three" of "three-one-thousand".
I thought perhaps it was an I/O issue - I did a fresh install of the OS and Xcode onto a fast disk, no other apps running. Happens there too.
Note that if I _double-click_ a file in the left file-listing pane, the new window that opens with the file in it appears _instantaneously_. It's only when I'm switching to a different file in the existing, main window that this occurs. It happens with all file types, even ones that don't need syntax checking/coloring/folding (like dylibs that just show a big icon in the main window).
Am I missing a preference setting somewhere? Is this a known issue? Any help is appreciated.
