Another way of looking at it is that Xcode 4 was released too soon.  I
think people has gotten used to being able to run on OS X and still
develop for X-1.  If Xcode 4 had been released with 10.7, dropping the
10.5 SDK would have seemed normal.  Previously, a big Xcode release was
simultaneous with a big OS X release, but synchronizing these doesn't
make sense now that iOS is king.  I'm just happy that OS X is supported
at all. :)
