Why not? It's OK for many applications, albeit not all, agreed. btw: there is some way to have access to OSX server 10.5, as we access to 10.6 via Mac Dev Center? That would be very useful for debugging purposes.

yes it is. If you have OS X Server 10.5 or later you can use it in a VM (as long as the VM is itself running on a Mac). You can get the server installers via Developer Connection if you are a member.

You can partition your drive and/or add an external drive, and install other versions of Mac OS X to those additional partitions/drives. Then, you can boot from whichever you like by holding down the Option (a.k.a. Alt) key at the boot chime.
