Well, that example sounds more like a feature request, than a bug.
Yet your feeling still holds. I have reported several bugs that have never been fixed. The lack of transparency of the whole process makes it so that there is no easy way to tell whether Apple cares or not. In the end, some (many?) developers, myself included, tend to get sloppy about filing bug reports, out of frustration and discouragement. Indeed, filing a *good* bug report often requires investing a lot of time, reducing the bug, checking under which conditions it occurs, testing hypotheses, instrumenting the codeā¦ When you feel that Apple doesn't really care, why bother?
