I've been using Project Builder, Interface Builder and Xcode for 20 years and I can definitely say that the current version of Xcode is the *best*. It is *incredible*. You just have to deal with a few rough edges. You can take advantage of all the good features and use those good features to work around the rough edges now. Some of the ad hoc tricks of the trade really show how IB and Xcode is well designed. Sure, every piece of software can be drastically improved (including VVI software) and I'm very optimistic about that type of software.
