New Xcode 4.1?

If I use the App Store version of Xcode, will it correctly uninstall the version (4.0.1) that I got directly from developer.apple.com? Or should I manually uninstall that version, then use the App Store version? If so, where's the uninstaller app for the old Xcode 4.0, or can I just trash the "Developer" directory at the root of my HD?
