Or should I manually uninstall that version, then use the App Store version? If so, where's the uninstaller app for the old Xcode 4.0, or can I just trash the "Developer" directory at the root of my HD?

Alway read:

/Developer/About Xcode.pdf

… and IMHO always:

sudo /Developer//Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all

reboot

before any upgrade unless you need the old SDKs, etc.

thanks!-
