Thanks, Matt.
Since I "bought" Xcode 4.1 for Lion through the App Store, it prima facie seemed I had to get the update that way. And I see from Sean's post that you indeed do end up doing it that way, after a detour. So my .dmg request to Apple still is relevant.
I'd also like to get 4.2 for Snow Leopard, assuming it actually exists. I ponied up $4.95 for Xcode 4.02 for SL through the App Store, and keep seeing mention of it or 4.1 on this and the cocoa-dev list, but logging in from my 10.6.8 system just sees the Lion link, no Snow Leopard option offered except 3.x. Already have that.
Can anyone tell me:
- is there an extant 4.1 or 4.2 for Snow Leopard?
- is SL 4.1 or 4.2 available to free dev members like myself?
- is there an available upgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 from SL's 4.02 for those of us who have paid our hard-earned $4.95?
Unfortunately the App Store (both for Lion and for 10.6.8) seems currently to be refusing all efforts to get product info on Purchased items, including my 4.02 purchase, and a search on "Xcode" shows up only 4.2 for Lion. Apple seems to have all exits blocked. Resistance is futile.
Many thanks for any advice,
ScottB

From a 10.5 machine, clicking the 4.2 for Lion link takes me to a Snow Leopard download, but at least I can get the dmg. From a 10.7 machine, I can't seem to get a dmg at all, it just wants me to use the App Store. (This is from the Mac dev page, I can't test the iOS page since I can't agree to their terms.)
