erroneous template

Use Xcode 4.2 to create a new project based on the last iOS template, Empty Application. Run the project. It runs, but a warning message results in the console:

"Applications are expected to have a root view controller at the end of application launch"

An application template whose application isn't valid? Is this wise?

I do sort of understand why Apple has modified the previous Empty Window template; before, it made a window whose root view was pulled directly from a nib, with no root view controller, and this really was never correct, since there is no reason on earth why an iOS app should lack a root view controller. But as it stands this now is a peculiarly useless template.
