This looks promising, although I can not find out where to put the plist into textWrangler.
So far I am finding cloud computing a hark back to the 1970s timeshare
computing. This brings back memories from 35 years ago. I hate to
admit it but I was probably the first person to default a credit card
with online time charges. Visa wanted to send someone over to reposes
my Tymenet.
Some computers I have access to have expired copies of bbEdit on them.
That left a sour taste.
I find it ironic that Apple used to pay me to write programs for them.
Now I must pay them for the privilege.

But I understand your immediate goal is to get a syntax-highlighting source editor for Postscript?

Xcode can't be made to do it adequately. As you've found, it happens to be a text editor that happens to balance delimiters.

I'd recommend BBEdit. (TextWrangler may be good enough. It's free, so maybe you can use it to see if you'd like BBEdit.) There's a language module that does syntax coloring at <http://ancientgroove.co.uk/freebies/PostScript.plist>. I don't know what quality it is, nor whether the codeless language module syntax is rich enough to do what you want. You could try writing your own; this was difficult until some genius clarified the process. <http://www.barebones.com/support/develop/clm.html>

It also has an MPW-like command document so you can run your interpreters. (BBEdit-only, I think.)

It's been a while since I've used TextMate, which has a much richer syntax language. I'm sure there is at least one Postscript module. I'll suppress the urge to compare. (That's not a sneer — I'm rusty enough that I can't offer a judgment for your case, and I definitely do not want to start a religious war.)
