Sounds like a bug in Xcode or Clang or something. Sample Xcode to see what it's stuck in. File a bug report and include the sample as well as your source code. Until it's fixed, see if you can change your code around in some minor way to avoid whatever causes the problem.

Well, of course not. There is no valid reason for the compiler to hang while compiling code, is there?
