Xcode and Launchpad

  • Subject: Xcode and Launchpad

After installing Xcode 4.3 from the App Store, how is it supposed that Xcode and tools will have been arranged in Launchpad?

In my Launchpad, Xcode formed a group with Xcode itself, Instruments, FileMerge, Dashboard, etc. Possibly this came from an earlier installation (I rarely if ever used Launchpad). Now, after installing, when I try to launch for instance Instruments, I got the error message that this application is in the Trash. This happened actually while launching or installing Xcode the first time, as I chose to move the former versions into the Trash.

After deleting the Trash, the Xcode group and all its members are still there - but Launchpad seems not to find the applications anymore except the new version of Xcode which seems the single existing app in the group. Well, this is somewhat understandable but not very user friendly, IMHO. ;)

OK, I can get rid of the App Icons whose Apps are deleted. But is there a way to get the accompanying Xcode tools back into a Launchpad group (they don't appear anywhere in Launchpad)?

Andreas
