While 3.2.6 was not perfect it worked really well for me. Arbitrarily deciding that "one window does all" is the one true way, is a monumental regression in terms of usability. Everything is cramped and tiny, buttons are scattered all over etc. etc..

I _like_ having many "single purpose" editor windows open. I _like_ having searching, debugging etc. be distinct activities in their own window.

My opinion in this matter obviously does not matter to whoever has designed Xcode 4. He has decided that he knows better.

My preferred development machine is 10.6 using Xcode 3.2.6. I use 10.7 grudgingly if I have to, and Xcode 4.3 only if absolutely necessary. Lately that has been the case, so I've spent a couple of months on 4.2 and 4.3 so I believe I've had enough time to form a valid opinion
