Yep.

Yep.

It seems like Apple got some designer from the Windows world and Inflicted him upon us.
Lion simply blows with this pushing of iOS and Windows metaphors onto the Mac with animated everything. This "whole screen" move is SO Windows and is just idiotic when many of us have huge monitors. Even the blatant copying of the (terrible) Windows file copy error message shows that Apple is more focused with integrating a Windows feel onto the Mac.
I want to be able to use different windows for things, trying to lump everything onto one window ends up making things more difficult - like in Xcode, the loss of the lines of error messages, instead, we get a small column with the messages cut off. WHO LET THIS PASS? It's terrible.
And then there is the mass of different command keys to use, etc, etc.
Apple could have spent their valuable developer time making Xcode 3 and Snow Leopard better, rather than pushing poor usability metaphors on us rather than redesigning for the sake of redesigning.
And in Lion, if you use a magic mouse in Safari and turn gestures off? The Safari window will still wobble when you approach the edge of the screen. It's irritating and so much LESS useful than Snow Leopard. No way in hell do I want to pay to upgrade my OS, and then spend my valuable time to try to hack it back to the level of usability I just upgraded from.
We have these command keys that we can use to move between different windows. It's silly to try to force us to do everything on one.
Rant over.
