This bit me too.
Xcode doesn't use the word "constraint" but if you, for example, select
two controls and choose Pin->Horizontal Spacing it will create an
appropriate constraint between the two controls.
Ditto for width, height, alignment, etc.
(This all presupposes that you have enabled auto layout in your nib
inspector.)
