We've had many small headaches. Most have been things that should've been querying xcode-select all along rather than making assumptions about where the tools live. We use cmake quite a bit, too, though. That's been a larger headache with this transition than with previous ones. I'm in the final stages of wrestling that into submission, and will likely write a blog post about that because google has been singularly unhelpful.
I haven't had any problems large enough to contemplate reverting to 4.2.
