I have my QuickLook plugin working, at least when I run it in the qlmanage tool.
But I can't seem to get the system to recognize and use the plugin for regular
usage. I've tried putting it in my application (Contents/Library/QuickLook) as
well as in /Library/QuickLook. But the Finder still doesn't show thumbnails for
my files, and qlmanage -m doesn't show my plugin. I don't see anything relevant in the console.
This is probably too obvious, but does your plugin have the extension
.qlgenerator ? I can imagine that if you explicitly tell qlmanage where
your generator is, it might not need to have the right extension.
Does Finder show your plugin's "kind" as "Quick Look Generator"?
Questions:
- If I have the plugin in my app, when does the system notice that it's there?
I can't swear to it, but I think it's when you launch your app.
- What exactly does qlmanage -r do?
man qlmanage says "resets Quick Look Server and all Quick Look client's
generator cache."
qlmanage -h says "Force reloading Generators list".
Are these not exact enough?
