Markus, please post a link to the official documentation supporting
codesigning for Developer ID with the 'codesign' command-line tool. It
should be much easier to read than email list archives, and I would like to
verify that we are using the best practice.
I have no link to share. However, the fact that you can take any build command
from the build transcript and execute it on the command line very much
contradicts your statement about not being supported. I believe this is
described in detail in the WWDC 2012 session "404 - Building from the Command
Line with Xcode".
Xcode doesn't do black magic voodoo when code signing. It just executes the
codesign tool with appropriate parameters*.
