It's extraordinarily frustrating to have this happen, and it's entirely Apple's fault. The code signing mess has NEVER been good at reporting the problems, and it was precisely that which prevented a quick resolution to this problem.

My bad. Thanks for making the distinction.
However, I've never had them respond fast. This problem required a lot of back-and-forth (and if you see, I solved it). They take at least a day to respond. If you count the number of exchanges it took for me to finally clue in to what was wrong, imagine how long that would've taken.
