Urgent: Xcode suddenly can't connect to my iPad

Xcode suddenly can't connect to my iPad. I've connected successfully today, built and debugged my app. But then I plugged it in at one point and it wouldn't connect (Xcode says "iOS Device" in the Scheme menu).

iTunes can see the device just fine. If I unplug it, Xcode complains "Could not receive a message from the device."

I've rebooted both my MacBook Pro and my iPad.

Any ideas? Thanks!
