iOS Storyboard - inspectors displaying nothing.

I've seen this since Xcode 4.2, but I'm in 4.6.3 now on Mac OS 10.8.4 and the problem remains.

When selecting an item in the storyboard, often no information at all shows up in the inspectors.

If a UILabel is selected, only the Quick Help displays proper info for the item, but nothing at all displays in the Identity Inspector, the Attributes Inspector, the Size Inspector.

It doesn't matter how I select an item.

I've quit and restarted Xcode. Same thing. Even on different elements too.

Does anyone have any idea what puts Xcode in this state so I can never run into this time wasting problem again?

Thanks.
