The user shouldn't be forced to visit the Prefs dlog every time they want to do something different. In many cases, I want to build everything even if the first file generates an error, because the build is going to take 10 minutes and I went outside to take a break. Those 10 minutes shouldn't be wasted NOT building all the files that can build just because the first one failed.
Maybe we misunderstood each other – my assertion was that turning this preference on would help ;) In all fairness, the “compile one file” solution won’t work here either – which code unit should Xcode compile if you’re editing a header?
It would compile the source file you're editing. It would be stupid to run the Compile command on a header.
Except the entire premise of this situation was that we were editing a header...
