I have a hard time believing that the responders have an encyclopedic knowledge of what was said at sessions going back years, down to the second. Nor do I credit that they run the entire stream just to get a time hack just to answer one question on a mailing list.

Um, no trick. When WWDC videos are released each year, I browse the subjects looking for ones which interest me. I download and watch them. Some of them have information that I find very useful, like the one I referenced in that thread. I've had occasion to re-watch parts of that one several times over the years since it was released. When I went to reply to that thread, I opened it up and scrubbed it to find the timestamp of the part that was relevant. (They are downloadable, though iTunes U if nowhere else. So, I don't need to stream them each time. Also, watching downloaded files rather than streams lets me set the playback speed to ~1.75x, allowing me to get through them faster.)

I certainly couldn't pull up a reference to any or all WWDC videos that might be relevant to a particular subject. It's just that I happened to be familiar with that one. Perhaps it seems that "the community" is able to do that because each individual member has a different small subset of videos with which he or she is familiar.

For a list of the videos, I just go to Apple's site: <https://developer.apple.com/videos/>. For older WWDCs, take the link to view all videos in iTunes.

Cheers,
Ken
