The big issue for me is Xcode's constant reconfiguring of the UI in the attempt to try and do everything in one window.

The log window is miniscule and most of the time, I don't want the timestamp.

Simply having another window open on a monitor (or computer) that I can view that isn't resized all the time and shows the log output is very useful to me. Getting the behaviours right so that Xcode doesn't always modify or get rid of that window is not easy. Having a terminal window open that tails a file is pretty easy and time effective to get working right.

Once I've got that, a log navigator is awesome, but getting to that point in Xcode isn't reliable enough and takes too long to get working right.
