Yes, open the storyboard with no other project files open. Double click just the .storyboard from the Finder. You won't be able to make connections, but you should be able to do other edits. If you really need to make connections you can create an empty workspace, drag in just the storyboard and the header you want to connect outlets/actions from/to.
