Instruments not letting me use most instruments with my iPhone 5

I’m trying to profile an app on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.1. I’m mostly using the regular Time Profiler instrument. I also want to use some other instruments, but as soon as I drag another instrument from the Library panel into the track area of my document, the Record button disables itself so I can’t profile the app. And a tooltip on the new instrument reads “This device does not support this instrument”.
This happens with every single instrument I’ve tried, including ones that I know for sure are supposed to work on iOS, including Dispatch, Reads/Writes, System Calls…
Any idea what’s going wrong?
