In the status bar just below the toolbar, it shows the name of the file and the line number. That's a popup, and at the bottom of the list is "Clear File History" and "History Capacity".

(Though I'd really like autosave turned off on *all* my Xcodes. Especially when it's not a change I've made (nib auto-update, grr) and the file is locked!)
